How it all started

It was roughly 2015 and Fire Cone creator Matt was in Vermont at a friends mountain getaway cabin. One of his favorite places in the world. He was sitting around a fire pit with some of his closest friends doing what friends do: chatting, laughing, telling stories, sipping, snacking. Inevitably, the fire needed attention and re-stoking. Matt loves a good fire and doesn't mind tending so he rose from his seat to do his duty. Now comes the all too familliar balancing act of adding wood without collapsing the whole fire, logs rolling away, embers and coals and smoke blasting you in the face. These things all happened to Matt in this moment. Coughing (he's asthmatic, puff puff) and rubbing his eyes, Matt thought...

"There should be a thing for this."

The next day, Matt went to look for said thing only to find, there wasn't anything great out there. He thought "There's no way I'm the only person who thought of this, someone will surely make one soon." Every year since, Matt went to look for what he thought was sure to be a fire pit device that holds your wood up for you.

He never found a good one.

Fast forward about 9 years and Matt thought, "Well. I may as well make one for myself at least. And maybe someone else wants one too." And in 2024, Fire Cone was born! Made by hand in America with American steel, Fire Cone's mission is to make fires easier to manage so we can focus on what fires are for, telling stories and making memories.
